Businesses need to be visible or recognized in their field to gain and keep customers. Being visible means having a strong presence and reputation in your selected business filed as well as being in the forefront when customers are searching for services you provide. This includes efforts such as networking, podcasting, writing, doing content or influencer marketing or doing social media. Any three of these efforts develop your customer base.
Spend time to establish a Unique Differentiation Proposition (UDP), that will separate you from similar companies and reinforce the distinctive qualities of your business in the minds of your intended market. Carefully consider the entire customer experience of what you do every day as you serve your customers that is better than your competition.
To determine what sets you apart, look at several key areas, including your product attributes, customer service, pricing and overall customer experience. Although you want to distinguish your business’s unique marketing features, you cannot stand out on everything. When you try to do it all better than the competition, you are in jeopardy of being inconsistent with customers. If you keep it simple and focus on a few key strengths, you will improve the probability that your customers will understand and accept your message as sincere.
Once you have chosen your differentiation strategy, you need to communicate it clearly and consistently to your target market. Use your marketing strategies to convey your unique selling points and will resonate with your audience.
